Sony Pictures Buys Rights to Steve Jobs Biopic

Unless you've been living under a rock (or you don't own an iPad or Macbook or iPhone or iPod or really any other kind of internet-enabled device), you probably already know that Apple CEO Steve Jobs passed away this week after a long fight against pancreatic cancer.

As is often the case with high-profile personalities, whether alive or already passed, we tend to want to hear their life stories. Enter Sony Pictures.

The authorized biography of the late Steve Jobs hasn't even been published yet, but studios have already been jumping at the opportunity to buy the feature rights to the book. It looks like Sony Pictures has won the battle and picked up the rights to the bio, appropriately titled Steve Jobs.

Sony seems the perfect choice for the film, as they were the ones who made the Oscar-nominated "The Social Network," another biopic about a young tech entrepreneur. This one has the potential to be even more interesting, though, considering Jobs' fascinating life and rumored temper with his employees.

This will be the second biopic about Job's life, though, as "The Pirates of Silicon Valley" aired on TNT a while back, starring Noah Wyle as Jobs.

We'll be keeping an eye on this one as news comes out about who will write, produce, and direct the film. Can you imagine if Sony gets Aaron Sorkin on board with this one as well? Yowza.
